What is the Significance of a Blue Rose?

blue-roseWhile trying to find out what is the significance of a blue rose, you will be surprised to know that the blue rose actually does not exist! Researchers studying flowers and plants believe that the particular pigment required to make a flower blue, is not found in roses and so roses cannot be blue. However, the blue rose is achieved artificially, the most common tactic being that of dipping white roses in blue dye till they attain the blue color.

Since the blue rose does not exist, or rather, still has not been found, the quest is on to find the blue rose. It has been compared to the Holy Grail and o the blue rose is shrouded in a lot of mystery. If you ask what is the significance of a blue rose, the most common answer you will get is perhaps that the blue rose signifies mystery. The blue rose has long been the symbol of mystery and used in a number of plots to signify ambiguity.

Why Rose is the Best Gift in Valentine’s Day?

valentine-day-roseThe world is full of flowers. Visit any place dedicated to flowers and you will be amazed at the types of flowers, and facts about them. Flowers come in all shapes, and colors. Some of them can intoxicate you with their lovely perfume. Some are so delicate that one fears touching them. And all of them are stunningly beautiful. still, it is the Rose which is preferred around the world as a flower of choice on the Valentine’s day? I wonder about this. And though I have not tried to search for the reasons, here is my own theory on why it is so. One another fact struck me. We can get Roses in many colors but still it the dark red that is preferred as the flower of love. Why?

The Meaning of a Purple Rose

Whether it is the red rose that symbolizes passionate love or the white rose that stands for pure love, roses and loves have long been associated. The purple rose also symbolizes love, but it symbolizes love at first sight. The meaning of a purple rose is that the giver of a purple rose wants to convey to the receiver that he or she has fallen deeply in love after looking at the receiver for the very first time.

This meaning of a purple rose goes on to show that a purple rose symbolizes enchantment and attraction. Enchantment is the greatest meaning of a purple rose. While on one hand enchantment can be infectious and even obsessive, enchantment does not usually include permanency. This is another meaning of a purple rose. While a red rose professes everlasting love, a purple rose goes on to show a sudden attraction. It does not really imply any thing long term. However a purple rose does say that the giver intends to take things slow and follow the normal course of things, rather than hurrying through them.
